MINI how-to guide: This is how you change the settings for data protection in your MINI with Operating System 9.

To use certain functions and services in your MINI with Operating System 9, data must be transferred to MINI or a service provider. Data transfer can be deactivated or customised for individual functions or services.

Important notes:

  • The personal settings of your MINI with Operating System 9 are saved in the Guest profile or for your MINI ID.
  • If you have activated the synchronisation of settings for your MINI ID in the vehicle, your personal settings are saved in the MINI Cloud.
  • To permanently delete all personal data and settings in the vehicle, you must reset the vehicle to the factory settings.
  • MINI recommends activating all MINI permissions for data protection to be able to use all functions and services of your vehicle without restrictions. To do this, select the following directly after adding your MINI ID: "More settings" > "Privacy" > "Activate all".
  • If you deactivate data transfer for a service, you will not be able to use it.
  • If you use online services of other providers, these services are subject to the responsibility as well as the privacy policy and terms of use of the respective provider. MINI has no influence on the data exchanged in the process.

Step 1:
Open the Apps menu.

 

Step 2:

Select "All".

 

Step 3:

Select "Privacy".

 

Step 4:

Select the desired general term:

  • "BMW AUTHORISATIONS"
  • "CATEGORIES"
  • "APPS"

 

Step 5:

Activate or deactivate the privacy settings for one or more services or apps.
