MINI how-to guide: This is how you manage the MINI IDs in your MINI with Operating System 9.

In MINI vehicles with Operating System 9, one main user and up to six co-users can log in with their MINI IDs. For unrestricted use of the MINI Connected digital services in your MINI, such as the MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant, you must be logged in to your MINI with your MINI ID. As the main user, you can change the settings of all MINI IDs in the vehicle; as a co-user, you can only change your own.

Requirements:

  • You must be logged in with your MINI ID.
  • Your vehicle must be stationary.
  • Your MINI requires a mobile connection. Avoid places with poor mobile phone reception, such as underground car parks.

Important notes:

  • In MINI models with MINI Operating System 9, one main user and maximum six co-users can log in with their MINI IDs.

  • The user who logs in first is the main user. All other users are co-users with limited rights.

  • As the main user, you can manage the following settings, for example:

    • Remove added MINI IDs.
    • Change a co-user to the new main user.
    • Change privacy settings for the vehicle.
    • Create the main digital key.
  • Removing the MINI ID of the main user resets the vehicle to the factory settings. In this case, the MINI IDs of all co-users in the vehicle will also be deleted and the vehicle will be removed in the MINI App of all users.
  • You can also manage MINI IDs in the MINI App under: "Vehicle" (tab) > "Vehicle settings" ("Vehicle control centre") > "User management".

Step 1:

On the MINI Interaction Unit, select the profile icon or your personal image in the status bar.

 

Step 2:

Select "Profile settings".

 

Step 3:

Select "MANAGE PROFILES" in the top menu bar.

 

Step 4:

Select a profile and make the desired settings.
