MINI how-to guide: This is how you delete all personal data and settings in your MINI with Operating System 9.

The personal settings of your MINI with Operating System 9 are saved in the guest profile or for your MINI ID. To permanently delete all personal data and settings in the vehicle, you must reset the vehicle to the factory settings. If you have activated the synchronisation of settings for your MINI ID in the vehicle, your personal settings are retained in the MINI Cloud.

Requirements:

  • Your vehicle must be stationary and the drive-ready state must be switched off.
  • You need a physical vehicle key in the passenger area.

Important notes:

  • If you have activated the synchronisation of settings for your MINI ID in the vehicle, your personal settings are retained in the MINI Cloud.

  • By resetting the vehicle data to the factory setting,

    • all MINI IDs in the vehicle will be deleted,

    • the vehicle will be removed from the MINI IDs of all users in the MINI App and MINI portal,

    • you are logged out of personalised vehicle apps (e.g. Spotify),

    • you can no longer use the Remote Services,

    • the Personal eSIM is logged off in the vehicle.

Step 1:
Open the Apps menu.

Step 2:
Select "Vehicle".

Step 3:
Select "System settings".

Step 4:
Select "Reset vehicle data".

Step 5:
Confirm with "Reset".
