The cornering light in your MINI is an additional light source and is automatically switched on on top of the low-beam headlight. It switches on automatically depending on various signals such as the steering angle sensor or the turn indicator during slow manoeuvres such as turning, manoeuvring, parking and driving in hairpin bends. It shines in the direction taken, making obstacles more visible when turning, for example. When engaging reverse gear, both cornering lights are switched on for the best possible illumination of the manoeuvring area. Depending on the model, the cornering light is an additional light in the headlight or integrated into the front fog lights.
