You can connect your mobile device to your MINI with Operating System 9 via Bluetooth® for telephony and audio playback. To do this, you must log in with your mobile device once in the vehicle. Once you have logged in a device in the vehicle, it connects automatically every time it is used in the vehicle.

Requirements:

  • Smartphone integration is part of the standard equipment (MINI Connected Base) of your MINI with Operating System 9.
  • You need a compatible mobile device with Bluetooth® function.
  • You need your vehicle key in the passenger area.
  • Bluetooth® must be activated in your MINI and on your device.
  • Your MINI must be operational.

Important notes:

  • Depending on the mobile device, Bluetooth® pre-adjustments may be required on the device, e.g. visibility.
  • You can connect a maximum of three mobile devices to your MINI at the same time via Bluetooth®. Two devices can be used as a telephone and one device for music playback.
  • If you have already connected three devices and you want to connect another one, you must first remove an already connected device.
  • You can use the "Google Fast Pair" function on Android devices with the corresponding software version. To do this, follow the instructions on the MINI Interaction Unit and on the display of your smartphone.
  • The range of functions may be limited if your mobile device is in power-saving mode or has a low state of charge.

Step 1:

Open the Apps menu.

Step 2:

Select "All".

Step 3:

Select "Mobile devices".

Step 4:

Select "Connect new device".

Step 5:

Open the Bluetooth® settings on your mobile device.

Step 6:

Select the device you want to connect on the MINI Interaction Unit.

Step 7:
Compare the displayed control number (passkey) on the MINI Interaction Unit with the control number on your device and confirm their match on your device.

Step 8:

Follow the instructions on your mobile device.

Step 9:

Select "Continue with MINI system" as the connection type on the MINI Interaction Unit.

Step 10:

If necessary, follow the instructions on your mobile device.
