How long does an automatic update of the navigation map take in my MINI with a MINI Controller?

Depending on the equipment of your MINI with a MINI Controller and MINI system with a menu with displays in the form of tiles (ID6), the navigation map is automatically updated on a regular basis. The automatic map update takes place via the SIM card integrated in your MINI. The duration of the update depends on the data transfer rate and the size of the navigation map. Depending on the region, the navigation map can be several hundred megabytes in size. Updating the navigation map in your MINI can therefore take several hours. You can use the navigation system without restrictions during the update or leave your MINI. The update is interrupted when you lock your MINI and resumes automatically on your next journey.
