Depending on the country of delivery, you can use the MINI Connected Service "Map Update" to update the navigation map in your MINI with a MINI Controller and MINI system with a menu with displays in the form of tiles (ID6) automatically or manually. After changing the region for the automatic map update or when travelling to other regions, MINI recommends updating all map material by means of a manual map update.
Requirements:
- You need a MINI ID.
- Your MINI must be connected to your MINI ID.
- The "Map Update" service must be booked for your MINI with a MINI Controller and MINI system with a menu with displays in the form of tiles (ID6).
- You need a USB stick with sufficient storage capacity. At the beginning of the download process, you will receive information about the storage capacity and formatting of your USB stick.
- You need a computer with operating system Microsoft Windows version 10 or higher or Mac OS X El Capitan version 10.11 or higher.
- Your computer needs up to 60 GB of free memory capacity to download and unpack the map material.
- To download, you need a stable Internet connection.
Important notes:
- After a manual map update via the MINI Download Manager, you can only install the map data on your USB stick in the vehicle for which you have carried out the map update in the MINI portal. At the beginning of the installation, your MINI checks whether a valid activation code exists for the map data.
- Since the "MINI Download Manager" program as well as the processes for downloading and unpacking the map material can change, MINI recommends reinstalling the MINI Download Manager on your computer for every manual map update (since 30/08/2023: Version DLM2.0). You can uninstall the MINI Download Manager from your computer after a successful manual map update.
- Downloading a map update for your MINI to your computer takes several hours, depending on the Internet connection and the file size of the map material. You can stop downloading a map update for your MINI on your computer at any time by clicking on "Pause" and continue at a later time.
- As soon as you insert the USB stick into the USB port of your MINI, the navigation map update starts automatically. Please note: You must be logged in to your vehicle with your MINI ID.
