How do I download a Remote Software Upgrade for my MINI with Operating System 9?

As soon as a Remote Software Upgrade is available for your MINI with Operating System 9, you will receive a notification in the MINI App and on the MINI Interaction Unit. You will also receive a message in the widget of the "MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant". Before installation, you must download the software upgrade in the vehicle over-the-air or via the MINI App on your smartphone. MINI recommends always downloading available Remote Software Upgrades promptly and via the MINI App. This transmission path accelerates the download of data, e.g. in locations with limited mobile availability. The data transfer takes place while driving. If you leave your vehicle before the download is complete, the process will continue on the next journey. During the data transfer, you can use your vehicle and your smartphone without restrictions. Once the data has been successfully transferred to your vehicle, you can start the installation of the Remote Software Upgrade. Please note: In some cases, large data packages are only available via the MINI App to avoid long over-the-air download times.
