How do I prepare the vehicle battery of my MINI with Operating System 9 for a planned longer stationary period, e.g. before a holiday?

If you plan a stationary period of several weeks for your MINI with Operating System 9, e.g. before a holiday, you should activate deep sleep mode. Deep sleep mode in your MINI is an energy-optimised mode that conserves the vehicle battery and allows you to park for longer. In deep sleep mode, the vehicle functions of your MINI are reduced while parked and certain electrical consumers are not available. This lowers power consumption and prevents the vehicle battery from discharging during a stationary period of several weeks. Complex battery maintenance is therefore less necessary before longer stationary periods. Please note: By deactivating the anti-theft alarm system, you can further increase the possible stationary period.

 

Deep sleep mode is available for MINI models with MINI Operating System 9 and software version from 07/2025.
