Why does the yellow warning light for driver assistance systems in my MINI come on for no apparent reason?

The yellow warning light for driver assistance systems might come on in your MINI if the driver assistance system's camera behind the windscreen is temporarily unable to detect its surroundings fully.

Possible causes include, for example, dirt, wet conditions, snow, ice, fog, mist on the windscreen or poor lighting conditions such as the sun being low in the sky. In these situations, the camera's field of view might be restricted, meaning that the driver assistance systems might not be available with their full range of functions.

Please therefore check that the windscreen in the area of the camera is clean and free from any obstructions. If necessary, clean the windscreen and remove any contamination or deposits.

As soon as the camera's field of view is fully restored, the yellow warning light for driver assistance systems usually switches off automatically.
