Why doesn't the MINI Remote Software Upgrade start?

If a MINI Remote Software Upgrade (RSU) cannot be started, this might be due to the vehicle battery having a low state of charge.

Sufficient power must be available in the vehicle battery to carry out a Remote Software Upgrade. If the state of charge is too low, the update will not be started for safety and stability reasons.

To carry out the upgrade:

  1. Connect the vehicle to a suitable charger.
  2. Restart the MINI Remote Software Upgrade.
  3. Leave the charger connected throughout the entire update process.

Once the vehicle battery is sufficiently charged, the Remote Software Upgrade can usually be carried out successfully.
