MINI how-to guide: This is how you switch the pre-cooling on or off in your MINI with Operating System 9.

With the "pre-cooling" function, you can heat or cool the passenger area of your MINI with Operating System 9 before departure. Depending on the set temperature and the ambient temperature, the passenger area is ventilated or heated. The system utilises any residual heat from the engine to generate heat. The function can be switched on and off in the vehicle or in the MINI App directly or at a departure time.

Requirements:

  • The engine must be off.
  • The vehicle battery must be sufficiently charged.
  • To activate the pre-cooling in the MINI App, Remote Services must be booked and active for your vehicle.

Important notes:

  • The system can be switched on and off directly or at a preselected departure time.
  • The switch-on time is determined by the outside temperature. The system switches on in time before the preselected departure time.
  • The system switches off automatically after some time.
  • The air vents in the instrument panel must be open.
  • The date and time must be set correctly in the vehicle.

The range of functions may vary depending on the equipment of your MINI.

Step 1:

Select the icon for the Climate menu in the MINI Interaction Unit.


Step 2:
Select the button for the settings (gear icon).

 

Step 3:
Select "Pre-cooling".

 

Step 4:
Switch the pre-cooling on or off.

Alternatively, you can set or activate a departure time in the "departure plan".
