What does the abbreviation "NFC" mean in the wireless charging tray of my MINI?

The abbreviation NFC stands for "Near Field Communication". NFC is a radio standard for wireless data transfer between two devices over short distances. Your MINI uses this standard in addition to Bluetooth® or Wi-Fi for the data exchange of the Digital Key on your smartphone.
