How do I activate or deactivate the child lock for the rear doors of my MINI with Operating System 9?

In certain situations, it may be useful to secure the rear doors and windows, e.g. when transporting children. To activate the child lock for the rear doors of your MINI 5-door model or MINI Countryman with Operating System 9, lock the safety switch in the door trim panel of the rear doors with the key integrated in the remote control. To deactivate the child lock, unlock the safety switch in the door trim panel of the secured rear doors using the key integrated in the remote control. Please note: A detailed description with illustration can be found in the Owner's Handbook for your MINI. The secured door can only be opened from the outside after activating the safety function. To additionally disable various functions, e.g. opening or closing the rear windows, for operation in the rear, press the safety switch in the driver's door.
