Depending on the country of delivery and equipment, you can operate contactless tailgate opening or closing of your MINI with Operating System 9. Sensors detect a defined foot movement in the centre rear area at a distance of up to approx. 1.5 metres.
Requirements:
- For contactless tailgate opening and closing, your MINI with Operating System 9 requires the options "automatic tailgate operation" (SA 316) and "Comfort Access" (SA 322).
- Selector lever position "P" must be engaged.
- Contactless tailgate opening and closing must be activated in the settings of your MINI.
- Bluetooth® must be activated on your smartphone for contactless tailgate opening and closing with the MINI Digital Key Plus.
Important notes:
- The hazard warning lights flash before contactless tailgate opening. An acoustic signal also sounds upon contactless closing.
- If you operate contactless tailgate opening, locked doors remain locked.
- In car washes, keep the vehicle key at a sufficient distance from the vehicle rear or deactivate the function to prevent the tailgate from being opened unintentionally.
- The system uses sensors underneath the rear bumper of your vehicle.
- In the Apps menu > "VEHICLE" > "Doors and windows" > "Tailgate", you can set the opening height and specify whether you want to open the tailgate with a foot movement and/or close it with a foot movement.
Depending on the country of delivery and equipment of your MINI, the availability and the range of functions may vary.
Step 1:
Position yourself in the centre behind the vehicle rear with your vehicle key or your smartphone with the MINI Digital Key Plus activated.
Step 2:
Move one foot under your vehicle and pull it back again immediately.
Note: You can stop the opening or closing process by moving your foot again.
