What can I do if my MINI does not detect the vehicle key and will not start?

If your MINI does not detect the physical vehicle key in the passenger area and cannot be started, the key's battery is discharged or the connection to the vehicle is faulty. Position the vehicle key near the steering column. In an emergency, you can start the vehicle with the integrated key or the integrated emergency detection. To do this, hold the back of the vehicle key against the marking on the steering column. If the problem persists, contact your MINI Service Partner.
