MINI how-to guide: This is how you use Spotify in your MINI with Operating System 9.

In your MINI with Operating System 9, you can log in with your Spotify account and stream music and podcasts via the SIM card in your MINI even without your smartphone in the vehicle.

Requirements:

  • Your MINI with Operating System 9 requires an active "MINI Connected package" subscription.
  • You must download the "Spotify" app once in the MINI Connected Store in the vehicle.
  • You need a Spotify Premium subscription.
  • You will need your Spotify login data or a mobile device with the Spotify app in the passenger area.
  • Your MINI requires a mobile connection. Avoid places with poor mobile phone reception, such as underground car parks.

Important notes:

  • Your Spotify login data are saved for your MINI ID.
  • If you are not logged in to your MINI with your MINI ID, you can only log in to Spotify in the "Guest" profile for the current journey.
  • Alternatively, you can use the Spotify app on your smartphone via Bluetooth® audio streaming, Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.

Step 1:
Open the Apps menu.
 
Step 2:
Select "All".

Step 3:
Select "Spotify".


Step 4:
Scan the QR code shown on the MINI Interaction Unit with your mobile device and follow the instructions on your mobile device and on the MINI Interaction Unit.
